opening in fall 2021, our new 60,00-square foot academic building will house state-of-the-art labs and learning spaces for growing programs in the college of enhp. spaces include nursing simulation suites, motion analysis lab, human performance lab, occupational therapy skills lab, and physical therapy labs.
assistant professor of respiratory care
when covid-19 suspended clinical training in area hospitals earlier this year, griffiths had to get creative with clinical education. she worked with the american lung association to set up a virtual support group for patients with chronic lung disease called the "better breathers club." her respiratory students gained experience working with patients in the weekly support group, presenting educational sessions.read more
doctor of physical therapy program
josh breighner '20 has developed the water strider, a device that allows children with cerebral palsy to play independently in the pool, as part of a research project with faculty members sandra saavedra and donna snowdon. tests of the water strider have been so successful that josh and the university have filed a patent application for it and hope to make it commercially available.read more

kieu-my nguyen '20 is heading to medical school at the university of new england college of osteopathic medicine. as a student in uhart's honors program, she conducted research into concussion management practices and turned the research into a presentation to educate other students.read more
mikayla pascucci '18, m'20 is a special education teacher at the reggio magnet school of the arts in avon, conn. she has conducted research with uhart faculty on incorporating arts into stem education and has presented her work at national conferences. mikayla also used the skills she learned in her special education classes to serve as a job coach for her childhood friend jamie roland, who has down syndrome.read more

mikaela nelson '19, a graduate of our combined bs/ms program in prosthetics and orthotics, creates custom dolls with prostheses for children who have artificial limbs. she believes that all children should be able to play with dolls that look like them.read more
