our undergraduate programs cover a range of areas within the engineering and architectural fields to meet your interests and build the necessary skills employers are looking for. work within our fully equipped laboratories and studios and have a hands-on experience inside and outside the classroom. with our career-ready focus, you will have many opportunities during your time at ceta to grow professional connections, network with industry leaders, participate in internship opportunities, and become well prepared for employment or graduate school.
have an opportunity to pursue more of a well-rounded, cross-disciplinary education at ceta through our select minors. minors in ceta generally require six courses in the discipline. students should work closely with a faculty advisor to select courses.

many of the programs in ceta crossover to help you build a strong background for your career. students have the option to apply for dual degree programs with five-year study plans. these include:
- architectural design + technology & civil engineering
- electrical engineering & Audio Engineering Technology

accelerated 4+1 program
earn a bs and meng degree in your area of interest in just five years.
the 4+1 program is designed to allow full-time engineering students to earn their bs and meng degrees in five years of study. two graduate-level courses taken in the undergraduate program may be applied to both undergraduate and graduate degree requirements. students usually commit to the program at the start of the second semester of their junior year, and juniors who are interested should contact their department chair.
the following undergraduate engineering programs qualify:
- biomedical engineering
- civil engineering
- computer engineering
- electrical engineering
- mechanical engineering
in order to be accepted into the program, students must have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average at the end of the junior year (below 3.0 will be considered on a case-by-case basis).

accelerated architecture program
earn a bs in architectural design + technology and master of architecture (march) in just five years.
students can earn both their bs and march degrees within five years of study. begin taking graduate courses during your undergraduate senior year. this is available through track 1 of the master of architecture program.
track 1 is a 48-credit, 3-semester, full-time program typically completed in 12 months (summer, fall, spring). this program is only available to qualified students in the university of hartford undergraduate pre-professional architecture program. students begin immediately after completing their undergraduate degree requirements.
